Radford University invites applications for the position of ASSET Assistant Project Manager. This position will play a key role in Radford University’s efforts to provide pedagogical, instructional design and development consultation related to courses, modules, and whole curricula for instructional projects. This position will be responsible for supervising full-time learning coaches and part-time subject matter experts, providing guidance and support with the quality assurance processes, coordinating with campus faculty in developing math related curricula and content, coordinating with multimedia staff related to math content development, and developing assessments and learning activities for math related content in coordination with the assessment staff. This position reports to the ASSET Project Manager.

Required Qualifications

Educational background supporting a solid understanding in education, cognitive science, educational research, instructional design or related field or equivalent education, experience, or training. Demonstrate the ability to manage, lead, and work in a cooperative, agile, team-based environment. Taught or are currently teaching K-12 mathematics to co-develop math-related curricula, content, learning activities and assessments that follow best practices of online learning while also serving as an on-screen subject matter expert to teach math content. Proficiency with technology and technological resources to include, but not be limited to, online learning management systems and web page development. Working knowledge of skills, tools, and processes used in the development and delivery of web-based training / e-Learning. Ability to see the big picture and report progress accordingly. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive organization topics and issues as well as maintain learner privacy.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of project management tools such as Smartsheet and Basecamp. Familiarity with learning management systems and online learning support. Familiarity with learning science research and its application within online learning environments. Familiarity with educational research methodologies and practices. Experience working in a competency-based learning environment. Experience teaching in a K-12 system. Strong visioning and strategic planning abilities. Demonstrated success in working with internal and external partners. Demonstrated success in project management to include meeting established goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
